Description: Media outlets feed off of audiences who want to see the negative happenings. Using that formula, they forego less and less good news and replace with more and more calamity. Reading, viewing or absorbing these streams of data can affect the reader/viewer in that those images/words of bad things cause their minds and bodies to absorb some of the negativity.
